Hippo in the House

I dreamed there was a hippo in our house. He was huge, rubbing against the kitchen counter. I kept shouting at him to chase him away

"Toka, man, get outta here"

Peering round the door to take pictures so I could put them up on the blog and tell you all about the hippo in our house.

But then he started talking and I felt really bad that I'd been so rude. So I offered him a cup of tea.

As you do.

How would he be able to lift his cup?

I'd have seen him more as a cappuccino sort of creature.... but maybe you know better?

Off the topic of that tea-swigging hippo, that Picture Window is just so amazing. I am totally envious of it! I thought my office window warthogs were pretty cool, but this view is just completely fabulous!!

Geli - I think that would be the least of my problems! Good visual tho!!

Mud - or a strawberry milkshake?

Karen - isn't it divine? And every day so different. Look forward to seeing it in the dry season and comparing to now

Do you know the children's book 'The Tiger who came to Tea'? You could introduce your hippo to the tiger.

whatever happened to those lovely teacups that Chantal gave us? Soup mugs actually, the hippo one and the elephant one. 'member? perhaps he could drink out of that. the hippo one, naturally.

There lies a story. What did he tell you?

A hippo that pops in for tea and a chat - crazy, who ever heard of a tea drinking hippo?

Loving the view as always!

Of course he's not outside the window, he's in the kitchen drinking tea.

You didn't need photos. I saw the whole thing quite clearly from your description. Perhaps I can will myself to have a dream about puffins.

Did the hippo bring a hostess gift? I'd imagine hippos to be excellent bakers of fine delicacies, like bueberry pancakes and such xx

Ah, Miranda, as I'm sure you know, hippos are mean. So you can't be blamed for shouting. You just lucked out on a nice one in your house.

I have heard of elephants in the kitchen - as in the big thing that everyone can see, but no-one wants to mention and so act as if they cant see it. Are hippos the same? Glad you offered him tea - shows you are open to dialogue!

thank heavens for tea xxx
